Curious about rope and connection? This workshop is for anyone who wants to explore the basics, whether you're completely new to ropes or looking for inspiration.

About the session

We'll focus on exercises in listening, feeling, and responding. How do we follow, lead, and create a story together using rope? If you want to explore minimalism in rope, reconnect with the fundamentals, or simply wish to step outside your comfort zone - this class is for you. You can come with a partner or by yourself. If you come by yourself, you can usually find someone on site to connect with. If that suits you better, you are welcome to just watch the workshop. No experience? Excellent! Everyone is welcome! The workshop can be held in English or Swedish, depending on the needs of the room. About Rope: Rope has been actively involved in queer events since 2019, both as an educator and performer. They bring a unique perspective on self-tying and self-suspension, drawing from years of experience in both top and bottom roles. They have taught rope and kink workshops for SLM Stockholm and performed as an artist at Stockholm Pride. Their teaching is rooted in collaboration, body awareness, and creative exploration, with a strong focus on body inclusivity, adaptability, feminism, and disability rights. Rope’s workshops invite participants into a space of curiosity, connection, and play.

Practical information

  • A single rope, you can also buy or borrow ropes at the studio.
  • A blindfold or something similar.

Rules

  • We follow Nawa Studio's code of conduct
  • When tying, there are always scissors nearby
  • No visible gender in the venue
  • No open drinking vessels are allowed in the rope room!
  • Before touching another person's body or things, we ask for permission and accept a possible No without discussion.
  • Negotiation takes place before we tie. We use stop words: red = end and return to neutral position, yellow = stop and communicate, green = everything is fine/give me more. Tell each other during the negotiation if you are not used to using the stop words.
