Rope is often seen as a gentle entry point into BDSM, but that is not necessarily the case. What do we do when things go wrong? Jordgubbstjuven shares her experiences and provides tools to navigate when (not if) things go wrong.

About the session

How do we handle it when situations and sessions go wrong? In this lecture, we receive practical, hands-on tips on how to manage things like fainting in rope, nerve impairment, how to approach drop, and guidance on starting to build your own risk profile. The evening is a mix of a lecture and a workshop, where we develop and deepen our knowledge of what we can do when shit hits the fan. Among other things, we will learn early signs that something is about to happen and how we, both as top and bottom, take care of different types of situations. The evening is a continuation course following Nawa’s safety course, where we go deeper into how to become safer for ourselves, our partner, and our community. Beginners are welcome, but having tied a bit before is an advantage so that you have an idea of how you are in rope. The evening will not provide obvious answers, but rather challenge mindsets and prompt reflection on the risks we take. Jordgubbstjuven has experienced many things going wrong and spends a lot of time reflecting, researching, and talking about what happened and how it could be prevented. She has a strong interest in how the body functions in rope, both physiologically and psychologically, and will share this during the evening.
