Rope safety

Organizer: Jordgubbstjuven, JacL, Nadie

This evening we invite you to a lecture on safety in shibari, approaching the topic from two perspectives: the physiological and the psychological. Whether you are completely new to rope or have been tying for a while, you will leave with knowledge to carry with you in all your encounters with rope.

About the session

During the evening, Jordgubbstjuven, JacL and Nadie will hold a lecture on safety in rope. We will go through what happens in the body and what happens between those who tie together. JacL and Nadie will guide you through the physiological safety review: what actually happens in the body when we tie, what risks exist, and how to recognize and manage them in practice. Here you will get concrete, practical tools connected to RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink). RACK is a framework for making conscious, informed decisions together and a foundation the studio relies on. Jordgubbstjuven will take you further into the psychological and relational aspects: the emotional responsibility that comes with tying and being tied. How do we build trust? What does it take to hold space and support each other, both during and after a session? It is about meta-communication, reading and listening to one another, and taking care of whatever arises in both the person tying and the person being tied. The evening is mainly aimed at those who are new to rope or want to build a safer foundation, but the content provides a valuable reminder and deeper insight regardless of your experience level.
